Cut the chicken into small pieces. Finely chop the onion, tomato, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chili and saute for a minute until fragrant.
Add onions and saute until golden brown.
Add the chopped tomato, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and oil separates.
Add the chicken pieces and stir well, coating them with the spices. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is mostly cooked.
Lower the heat and add yogurt, stirring well to combine. Let it cook on low heat for another 5 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the flavors meld together.
Add garam masala, stir, and cook for another minute. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
